We pride ourselves on supplying our patients with the most advanced progressive lens designs available. Traditional progressive lenses are limited and often provide the wearers with unwanted distortion and a narrow field of vision. We have said goodbye to these effects by providing our customers with Varilux® Progressive Lenses. These lenses allow you to seamlessly capture every detail with high precision between arm’s reach and beyond. Through the use of Xtend technology embedded in the lenses, patients are able to experience multiple points in focus with a single position of gaze. This in turn minimises head movements and provides the wearers with greater fluidity in their vision.
With so much of our world being digitalised, looking after our eyes has never been so important. In just two hours of computer use (laptops, tablet or smartphone) people can experience eye strain. Prolonged screen time can cause tired eyes, headaches, red/irritated eyes, dry eyes and blurred vision. While the simple solution to these symptoms would be to stop computer use, this isn’t possible for majority of individuals. Eyezen lenses, engineered and developed by Essilor, were created to protect your eyes while using digital devices. These lenses enable you to see your screens more clearly and reduce squinting and tiredness. They also protect your eyes from harmful blue light emitted from computer screens.
Transition lenses automatically adapt to changing light conditions. The lenses respond to the surrounding light levels and they intelligently change from a clear lens indoors to a dark lens outdoors and back again. Transitions Signature GEN 8 is the latest innervation in photochromatic lenses. These lenses return to clear faster than ever before and the tint is substantially darker when outside. These lenses are available in the staple 3 iconic colours and 4 vibrant style colours.
Xperio polarised sunglasses help to cut through reflected glare, providing the wearer with crisper vision and greater visual comfort. Light is reflected off smooth flat surfaces – such as the road, water or snow and this creates blinding glare that can be quite hazardous. Xperio polarised lenses by Essilor eliminates this glare while providing the wearer with true colour perception and boasts an E-SPF of 50+ for maximum protection from harmful UV rays. These polarised lenses are available in a large range of prescriptions, customisable to single vision, multifocal and bifocal lens designs.
Choosing the correct lens design is the first step, however your glasses are not complete without the inclusion of an anti-reflective coating. Anti-reflective coatings are recommended for all ages and each coating serves a purpose depending on your specific work and lifestyle factors. Anti-reflective coatings allows the wearer to see better, they allow for more comfortable night-time driving by acting to reduce reflections from headlights, streetlights and taillights. Antireflective lenses also look better. They provide a clean, clear and reflection free lens so those around you are seeing your eyes rather than your glasses. Lastly, the feel better. Anti-reflective lenses mean fewer headaches and less eye strain caused by digital devises. Essilor has three premium anti-reflective coatings each serving their own specific purpose.
Types of Coatings
Crizal Sapphire UV
Standard anti-reflection coatings work to reduce frontal reflections only, causing visible reflections on the periphery of the lens. Crizal Sapphire UV employs new algorithms to allow for the reduction in frontal and lateral reflections, providing the wearer with nearly invisible lenses, enhancing the comfort and precision of vision. In addition to the crystal clear precision Crizal Sapphire UV offers its wearers, if also boasts the best-in-class UV protection, with an E-SPF of 35. Lenses with this coating have been approved by the cancer council for their UV protecting properties, helping to reduce levels of UV exposure In and around the eyes – a known risk factor for skin cancer in this region.
Crizal Prevencia is a clear lens coating that helps to prevent blue light emission from computer screens. These harmful blue lights can lead to symptoms of eye strain and disturb sleeping patterns. The advanced technology within the coating provides the most effective UV protection possible from a clear lens. This coating is resistant to smudges, scratches, dust and water.
Crizal Forte UV
Crizal Forte UV clear lens coatings provide the wearer with optimum UV protection and are endorsed by the Caner Council Australia.
